This simple piece is easy to layer with oversized frames, mirrors, or any other complementary artwork you already have. Plus, it’s the perfect backdrop for fall accents like taper candles, a vase filled with seasonal foliage, or a stack of books topped with pumpkins.

– Keep it simple! Use pumpkins, pinecones, mums, and foliage from your yard to decorate your outdoor space.

Let's get started...

For this project, I picked up a wooden piece from Hobby Lobby, along with some craft acrylic paints. I chose three fall-inspired colors and used three different sizes of sponge brushes for variation. To get started, I measured out the first vertical line with a yard stick & pencil to keep it straight. After that, I freehanded the rest to give it a more organic feel.

Final Touches...

Once the vertical lines dried—about 15 minutes—I moved on to the horizontal lines, completing the grid-like pattern. The whole process was quick, and I love how it turned out! It’s a unique and easy way to bring a touch of fall to any space.

This DIY project is versatile enough to fit with any fall decor, and it can be easily styled with other pieces like mirrors, oversized frames, or your favorite seasonal accessories.
